Update on the quest...

We finally found Boston Cream Pie in Boston! This weekend I "sampled" (don't get the wrong impression, I pretty much devoured the whole thing) three pieces of Boston Cream Pie - one from Rosie's Bakery, one from Mike's Pastry (a famed cannoli shop in the North End) and one from Durgin-Park pub. I think the current leader is probably the Boston Cream Pie from Mike's Pastry.

Boston Cream Pie is different here than I expected. Instead of a chocolate glaze over the cake, there is a thick chocolate layer on top. That has thrown me for a loop - but it's still really yummy...

Now (after three pieces of Boston Cream Pie in less than 24 hours), I think I need to go on a diet! :)
