Belated post... more pumpkin carving...

In honor of the Currie Cup and our upcoming trip, the South African pumpkins of the year.

Yesterday evening we got to hang out with friends and carve a few pumpkins. I'm going to have to wait for pictures of the complete pumpkin collection (including friends' creations), but here are a few pictures of Michael's masterpiece for the year.

By the end of today, we will have lived in our house in Colorado longer than we lived in our house in Mississippi. We bought our house in Mississippi one year and one day before we bought the house in Colorado. We sold the house in Mississippi on Halloween Day 2006.

It's hard to believe that we've been in this house longer now than our first. It's hard to believe that Michael's been working for NORESCO for over a year now. Time sure flies and we're sure enjoying Colorado. Hopefully we can enjoy this house for a long while to come. :)

Last night, we broke out the pumpkin carving tools and Michael went to work on one of the four pumpkins we bought. It's been a while since we've carved pumpkins, as we were in the middle of a move during Halloween last year.

Our South African friends have introduced us to the world of rugby (we are slowly but surely getting up to speed on the game). We recently watched the Rugby World Cup with them - and South Africa took the title! In honor of the victory, Michael decided to carve a Springbok pumpkin (the Springbok is the South African rugby team's mascot/logo). The pumpkin has already made its way next door to its rightful home. :)

Our crazy fun weekend continued on Saturday. We drove 6 1/2 hours back to Jackson for a Halloween Party. Our friends Kevin and Christy hosted. It was a blast! We carved pumpkins. I haven't carved a pumpkin since I was probably 8 years old. We had a lot of fun.
