So I have had two tiny surgeries lately to remove a funny cyst-type thing under my arm. Nothing malicious. Just preventative.

Anyhow, being the medical anomaly that I am, my skin is highly reactive to bandaids. To keep the stitches covered (and avoid horrible reactions), I got very creative.

Solution 1:
Cheap, easy and comfortable too.















Find an old sock. One with holes is even better (see nice hole in heel above). Grab the nearest pair of sissors. Start chopping.



















Voila. Stick a piece of non stick gauze over the stiches. Pull on your brand new arm band to hold it in place. Ghetto but good. :) This one never made it outside of the confines of the house.

Solution 2:
The fancy pants solution.



















Locate your nearest sporting goods store. Buy the nice little tennis elbow brace. Stick a piece of guaze under the brace, strap it around your arm and you have a much more presentable bandaid alternative.

Last weekend, after a long work week in Houston, I attempted a bit of recovery. Saturday was a regroup day. Sunday was church, lunch with friends, reacquainting our mountain bikes with the backcountry trails and a little reunion with some friends we got to know in Mississippi. Fun times! Great end to a long week!















I still carry the scar from getting "sprocketed" by my bike a couple years ago; this time I got "pedaled." My mountain bike and I have a love-hate relationship. At least this was the worst I fared while attempting to learn my new clipless setup. I haven't been brave enough to take the "fragile" bike out yet with the clipless gear















We headed down to the Springs with Kim and Fleetwood for a little fun at Garden of the Gods and some adventures in trying to find various other landmarks! Don't mess with Jimmy John's (our lunch stop) - they're "Freaky Fast!"

Pikes Peak

There is a dry cleaner right by our house. I decided to try it out. I took in 6 items - 5 knit shirts and one sun dress. I got a funny vibe when I went in and worried that I might pay a pretty penny for the order. However, I had no idea what I was in store for.

With 6 items, I thought the worst the damage could be would be somewhere in the range of $30. Well, the damage is done - and it was over $50! That's an average cost of around $10 an item. Outrageous! Needless to say, I won't be going back there - EVER!

This has been a week full of accidents. Yesterday, Michael was involved in an electrical explosion at one of the sites his company services. Thankfully no one was hurt and hopefully there were be any lasting repercussions from the mishap. On Tuesday, my boss was in a motorcycle crash. He's also ok but a little beat up. Enough already!

My pinky finger had an unfortunate encounter with my food chopper this weekend. Ouch!
