Oh the memories...
On the eve of the first day of school, Michael and I were discussing how times have likely changed since we were at A&M. We were discussing how when we were in school people had PCs but almost no one had laptops (tomorrow will be a sure contrast on that front). Then Michael made the following comment:
"When we were in school, macs were still ghetto."
Couldn't pass this one up. The social media frenzy described to a "T."
My computer screen this morning. It decided to embrace the theme of change.
(Yes, the monitor display is upside down - which, by the way, makes your mouse movements backwards and reading/navigating exceptionally difficult.)
If you ever run into this, Option 3. Not that it's easy to implement upside down. There went 30 minutes of my morning...
Oh happy day. Our camera arrived home from the (warranty repair) shop today. I hadn't realized how much I have loved our new camera until I had to live without it for a little over a week.
Right after we returned from our trip to the California coast, a big dark spot started appearing in the middle of all our pictures. I tried cleaning the screen and lens to no avail. We finally had to send it off to be fixed. Supposedly the "display panel was inoperative causing black spots" and was replaced. Everything looks great again.
Unfortunately, my entire family was visiting this past weekend and we were without the camera for their visit. Bummer. I took a few pictures with my parents' extremely difficult to use camera (it's a couple generations old, kind of like "the brick"; made me appreciate our camera even more - so self explanatory).
I didn't get many pictures on their camera. Going to have to rely on my sisters to share their pictures. We'll see if that happens with their crazy college life schedules. I'll post the pictures I have copies of soon.
Unfortunately, the new camera is also missing out on a summer trip to Alaska. Bummer again.
Why do these things always have such bad timing? At least the camera is home now and hopefully won't miss out on any more summer activities.
So our camera, so lovingly deemed "The Brick" by Luke (due to its massive size) has officially been retired.
The Brick
Fujifilm's stock pictures (which look a lot better than the actual)... As soon as the new camera resurfaces I will have to post actual pictures of the Brick.
Our way old-school digital camera has seen its better days. The screen on won't turn on more than 90% of the time now (not to mention the big crack in the screen cover), the lens keeps catching when expanding and retracting and there is something that rattles inside the lens mechanism anytime you move the camera - not to mention that it is horribly antiquated (e.g. 3 mega pixel resolution, etc.). The little guy has served us well and we honestly can't complain. However, thanks to great Black Friday sales we have acquired a new camera that will hopefully serve us well for many years to come.
Goodie/Michael took the new camera with him on a business trip to Hawaii. I am hoping that he will actually take some pictures with the new camera on the trip. His sole criteria for selecting the new camera was - SLIM. Hopefully Michael will use it now that he can fit it in his pocket. :)
