Michael spent this weekend diagramming the house, developing a plan and then hanging Christmas lights (could you guess that he's an engineer?). Our neighbor across the street got such a kick out of the fact that Michael had his engineering paper and measuring tape out and was mapping out a decorating plan. He obviously hasn't hung out with many engineers (he's a finance type).
Our biggest challenges came in the form of an extension cord. A three-prong extension cord plug does not mate well with a two prong non-polarized receptacle on the evidently-not-so-modern-after-all LED lights. Wouldn't you know that they don't make non-polarized adapters anymore? Thanks to some creativity and a very handy husband, we made it work.
It was a bit nerve-racking having Michael climbing around up on the second story roof, 30+ feet off the ground with no tethering and rocks as a landing pad. Thankfully there were no mishaps and the Christmas lights look beautiful.
