Our very first highpoint

We've done 14 highpoints now:

We did the Georgia and Alabama highpoints on a New Year's trip in 2004 through Atlanta. Florida's highpoint was a result of our 1st anniversary trip to Pensacola in June 2004. We did the Mississippi highpoint on a trip to visit friends in Memphis, TN in July 2004. The Arkansas highpoint came on a trip to visit Michael's sister Stephanie in Ft. Smith, Arkansas over Labor Day 2004. We did Tennessee, North Carolina and South Carolina's highpoints on our twice rescheduled (thanks to Hurricanes Charlie and Ivan - Jeanne also hit while we were in the backwoods of the Smoky Mountains) September 2004 vacation. We did the Louisiana highpoint in a fun get-away trip to Monroe, LA in April 2005. We conquered the five northeast highpoints (NY, VT, NH, CT and MA) on our July 2005 summer vacation.

We hiked with Michael's parents to a windy and foggy summit.

Mt. Marcy wasn't as bad as Mt. Washington, though. 40+ mph winds, sleet, fog... Here's a Goodie picture to showcase the pleasant conditions. The picture was taken from about 3 ft away.
