The Goodrums

So living in a new city, you find that you have to rediscover everything - new doctors, new friends, new hangouts and new restaurants. Of course, being in Denver, where there is actually New Mexican food* - some of our first restaurant testing was of that genre. We found a restaurant that we liked quite a bit called Jack and Grill. Shortly after visiting the original location near downtown, we heard that there was a second location out by the airport. After dropping Michael's parents off at the airport a few weeks ago, we decided to try to find this second location. We found it and loved it! It was our new favorite restaurant in Denver. Convenient location, lots of easy parking, great service, and the same great food as the original.

This past week, I was taking Michael to the airport for a quick work trip to Albuquerque (where he would continue to eat an abundance of New Mexican food). We were running ahead of schedule (when does that ever happen when you are going to an airport?) so we decided to grab a quick dinner at Jack and Grill. When we got to the restaurant, another restaurant had taken its place. No warning... We had just been less than 2 weeks before. We were so disappointed. :(

Our favorite restaurant in Denver (since we've been to all of about 3 restaurants here :) is no more!


* NOTE: New Mexican food - not Mexican, not Tex Mex... but New Mexican. And yes, there is a huge difference. Just ask anyone from New Mexico.
