In April, there were still some wildfires. I also got my Thesis corrections accepted, collected the signatures of my committee members, and did all the paperwork things required to make my M.S. degree official. That was a good feeling and moved me closer to feeling “done” with my degree. The month was busy, especially for Jennifer at work as they prepared for the close of the legislative session in early May.
My parents visited Easter weekend and we did crazy amounts of cycling (and photographing Denver) and I began anticipating all the things I would accomplish from my list in the coming summer.

We also participated in what has become the annual Poor Uncle Billy Fun Run in Oklahoma City. This involves getting together with Jennifer’s family and participating in various aspects of the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon. We ran the half-marathon while the rest of the family competed in the marathon relay (or cheered).

We were both looking forward to the big relaxation to come in the post Graduate School era. We didn’t realize we were setting ourselves up for disappointment.
April saw the official end to the ski season, but no one really noticed because in some ways, it had never really started.
